Problem with Skype Ut-Oh

So I just downloaded Skype on my MBP which I got today and it lets me log in and loads my contacts then when I try and message/call someone it crashes and I have to force quit.

Is this a fault with Skype or a fault with my fingers? I have deleted an reinstalled and restarted my Mac

Any ideas or input?
