I can't seem to adjust volume any more on my Intel Mac mini using the apple keyboard or the IR remote. I could see volume icon pop up when I hit the volume button and it also moves up and down as I want it to, but the volume it self stays the same. Only way I could adjust the volume now is through the volume in menu bar. I appreciate any help to fix this.

have you switched to or are you using the optical digital out or are you using the internal speaker or an analog out

the digital out is fixed and not adjustable through the keyboard

Haven't switched anything, I have headphones connected and just the other day I started to have this problem.

I have a MacBook and I'm having the same problem with the volume after using the headphones. I believe I activated the digital out and cannot use the internal speakers anymore.

The same problem appears sometimes on my iPhone after using the headphones... Anyone with the same problem and, eventually, a solution :)

Thanks!
