iPad mini Problem with WiFi on iOS8 and iPad Mini Retina

Just wanted to warn people about this. In my case, it seems to be manifesting with the following combo.

Symptoms are:
- Wifi cuts out at unusually short distance - one room away
- Wifi recovers if you walk right next to the AP

Parameters:
- iPad Mini Retina
- Airport Extreme 802.11ac - transmitting on identical SSID's on 2.4 and 5 GHz bands
- iOS 8
