I cancelled my 50Gb iCloud+ sub yesterday. It was storing my Desktop and Downloads folders and some system settings. I now find I have TWO folders on my desktop instead of the various folders I had set up previously. One is called 'Desktop MacBook Pro M1 - 1' with a sub-heading 'Out of Space' and the other 'Desktop MacBook Pro M1' with a little cloud next to it and sub-heading '41 Items' . 'Macintosh HD' at top right of the desktop has increased in size by 100Gb or so too... How on earth do I revert to the desktop settings I had previously? So it appears I now have big duplicate folders and files. Which folders are safe to bin? Apple makes this very confusing doubtless to gouge more money from users subscriptions. Apple also tried to stoke fear into me by making statements to the effect 'You will lose data when cancelling your iCloud sub. I am NOT amused
