I don't know if this should have gone in the OSX forum or here...
This morning i let my mba 11 (2013) do it's osx update, (i always keep it up to date, so it's just the one latest update that ran today).
My laptop seems to work ok -- BUT -- it no longer can seem to connect to my external monitor... (HDMI)
I have tried my 23 inch 1080p monitor which I use everyday, and my 60" LG TV which I frequently use in the boardroom.
What happens is that after I plug in the HDMI cable/dongle, my laptop display blinks off for an instant and then every 10 or 2 seconds later, it blinks off for another instant... almost like it's trying over and over to connect to the external display.
Rebooting has no effect.
Somehow it just won't seem to drive an external monitor since the update.
I have tried two monitors, two cables, two dongles - all stuff that I routinely use from this machine....
