Problems all of a sudden,, can't install programs

I have no idea what has happened. I did install Adblock and then removed it, could that prevent programs from running, installing.

I have Photoshop cs5 and the bridge has a photo downloader that when you click on a file location for the files down load to, it locks up, freezes and you have to force quit.

I am trying to down load Adobe Air and that will not install. Also another program for photography, You Select it.. it will not install,,

what the heck???

ran disk permissions, nothing, ran Disk Warrior, nothing..

file permissions???

I just found a work around fix!

I read on another forum that if you install Firefox browser and have it running while you in install Air, it will work. The other program You select installed too..

I have no clue why running firefox worked but it did..
