problems backing up itunes to disc

I'm backing up itunes to disc, done seven disc yesterday and am continuing.
Just inserted one of the backup disc but it doesn't mount on the desktop.
It is immediately ejected so I'm not sure if any data exists.
Is this correct or am I wasting my time.
