I have a mini connected to my network via an Gigabit connection. Everything was working perfectly for a while. Then as a result of using the mini as a computer for a few weeks do to contruction in my house (my kids were using it and I am not sure if they messed something up), I am now having problems "connecting" to the mini.

When I go into the shared folder in Finder rather than seeing the mini listed I now see an entry called macmini-xxxxx and indicates that it is a PC server. I know that this is my mini media server because all the other computers that I have on the network are accounted for. The xxxxx is some form of code. I assume this is a unique identifier. I cannot connect to the mini through this entry and it does not connect thriugh the iTunes home share feature. If I go and turn the mini off and then turn it back on, it then works fine until it happens again.

Any suggestion as to what settings I need to change to get this to stop happening?
