problems d/l third party apps

everytime i try to download something with firefx or safari this happens... i am pretty sure it 's a quick fix i just don't know what the fix is.. can some one help me? this happens and the page never refreshes, it just stays blank.....

Not sure why that's happening, but right-clicking on the link and choosing "Save As" (or equivalent) should avoid it.
