iOS Problems getting app on device

I followed every step in the portal. I got my provisions and set the configurations in Xcode. I did not however restore the iPhone software version as it said. Is that necessary even if I have the new phone? Anyway, when I compile, I get an "Error verifying application message."

If it is necessary to restore the phone's OS for development, will it lose its ability to run apps from the store and make phone calls etc?

You need to restore through the organizer...I am having the same problem. Im assuming that you will be able to use the phone as normal after this restore.
