Problems getting photos onto iPhone 4?

Sorry If this was touched on already but when I go to sync select pics onto my iPhone it says that it synced the pictures onto it but when I check there is nothing shows up beside the pics I took on the actual phone. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Have you made sure you clicked 'Apply' after you selected the pictures and then pressed 'sync' afterwards.

I go to albums then I check the one that I want on the phone. Then I press apply then sync. Then it says, starting to sync then continues to say sync cancelled.
