problems hooking mbp to dell 24" monitor

Hi

solved: reconnected all cables and it worked. Some times the most obvious solutions are the ones that work.


I have a mid 2009 2.66ghz MBP that I want to hook up with my 24" Dell monitor. I have the mini-display port to DVI connected and connected my MBP to the powersource.

I'm not getting anything on my external monitor, and it seems OSX can't detect the external screen at all in system settings.

I might be overlooking something, I just don't know what. I'm hoping someone here can shed a bit of light on this.
