Problems importing AVCHD to iMovie, worked <5 hours ago

Less than 5 hours ago I imported some AVCHD footage (.mts) files into iMovie and began editing it. Now, I have recorded some new footage and put my SD card into my MBP and iMovie won't recognize it as a movie archive, I restarted my MBP and removed and reentered the SD card, what should I do, I'm freaking out!
