Problems importing MPEG4 into iMovie HD

I created an MPEG4 file (using MPEG Streamclip) from a TS file I streamed from a DVR player. The file plays fine in QT Player, but when I try to import it into iM HD 6, the app quits with an error about 20% of the way through the import process. Any idea what could be going wrong for me?
