Problems Installing 10.6 on Black MacBook

Hey All:

I've been trying to install SL on a black MacBook. When I put in the DVD, and hold option on start up, I hear the CDROM spin up and then spin back down and then repeat the process. Thats it. Completely Grey Screen with the optical drive spinning up then back down. Any opinions on how to get it to boot of the CD ROM?

Does the disc show up in Mac OS X > System Preferences > Startup Disk?

The hard drive is blank. I tried it on another computer, and the disc reads just fine.

Your super drive can be dead. Can you try with another os x install disk?

If your super drive is toast you can get an external dvd rom drive and install it from there. Or restore the os x install dvd to an usb drive.
