I replaced my hard drive in 2007 macbook and ordered copy of snow leopard. now my disc is here and it will not install. normally i can get to disk utility and everything checks out fine and once installation process begins is freezes up at different times but always freezes up before install completes.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. brand new disc never been used. tried cleaning it to no avail. don't use superdrive much but did not notice any problems with it before hard drive failed.
i also got one report after it froze and the first line said something to the effect of unable to install because disc is read only
wierdest thing happened. i was on the phone with apple tech and writing down the event log from unable to install mac os x and the computer flashed a blue screen then the registration started and now running snow leopard 10.6.3.( which is the disc) appears to be fine. apple tech stumped why said unable to install but i left screen on event log for about 10 min and it booted up. very weird.
