Hi. I have tried many times to install the 32 bit edition of Windows 7 on the 2007 15" MBP. I've tried putting a drive in with an existing Windows install. I cloned the Windows install DVD .iso onto a SATA drive and booted the MBP from that and installed it onto a new drive. Whatever I do, it always comes up with a DOS (or something) screen that says that it can't find any operating system.

I also installed 10.6 (or maybe 10.5) onto an SSD, partitioned the drive using Boot Camp and tried installing Windows onto that partition on the Mac SSD. Same result - the Windows install was successful but booting from it was not. The MBP can see the Windows OS when I boot holding option, but it doesn't successfully boot.

I also tried using the Clover EFI boot menu and GRUB, but to no avail.

I know that installing Windows on those earlier Intel Macs can be tricky. If anyone has any tricks it would be appreciated, thanks.

This is the model at hand:

Oh great point! I thought that it had a 32 bit Core Duo CPU, but it's actually the Core 2 Duo. 64 bit W7 is working great. Thanks.
