problems printing to a window shared printer!

hi all, i am having major problems printing to my shared windows printer. I had it working fine last week and it seemed easy to set up, but I have just reformatted my PC and now I cant seem to get it to work. The only difference in setup between now and last week is that I now have my PC running windows media center instead of XP Pro. I have tried many different methods of adding the printer in OSX, gogled loads and still cant get it to work. The stupid thing is that windows xp pro running on parallels on my macbook can see and print to the printer just fine!

I can see and add the printer in OSX, but when I try to print to it, it just wont work. Any idea's?

Did you rerun Printer Setup Utility on your Mac when you changed your Windows computer's OS?

yes many many times in many different ways. As I said in the post, the printer appears and sets up ok but just wont print from osx.
