Problems related to iTunes 9

I just bought an iphone and i have downloaded itunes to sync songs and applications from pc to my phone. But, when i restart my itunes, my files (songs and apps) in my library have gone, it was nothing and i have to import all agn. I also need to import agn the songs and apps that contained in my phone because my phone's songs and apps will be erased if i sync without reimport them, why would this happen?
