Problems ripping commercial CDs to iTunes?

I have a friend who has been trying to rip his CDs to iTunes, and recently he's had problems ripping commercial CDs to his iTunes. He said it happened with both Norah Jones's new CD as well as one from the Fugees.

I don't know of his settings at all, but has anyone here experienced the same problems? What was your solution?

i have a xilisoft converter, it has a lot of convert functions, maybe you can download and have a try.
