We have an iMac with OS X 10.6.8 and have a continuing problem sending e-mail using the Hughes.net satellite server. There are also mail issues using this server on a new iPad Mini. With the iMac we get a diagnostic saying:
unable to send using smtp.hughes.net the server has rejected this e-mail address. Unsent mail will reside in the outbox for days and one will occasionally be sent on a random basis. Using the same system and server with a PC works fine, mail is sent and received with no problem. Hughes claims there is some kind of incompatibility issue with the Apple software but I have no way to determine is this so. They have given me an alternate Port to use and when I do the mail sends fine but then incoming e-mail is blocked. Is anyone experiencing similar problems?
