Problems with accelerometer and zooming?

Is anyone else having a problem with their iPhone not rotating when you turn the phone? This is in apps that should rotate, like Safari. I am also not able to zoom all the time when I double tap. It acts like it wants to zoom, but then it goes back to original size. Sometimes if I tap on a different part it works. It didn't seem to work at all on .pdf files. I have a 8GB 3G phone. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if I should take it in.
