Okay, here's the deal; I've got AoM v2.0.1 (The version GameRanger wants) on a 1.2 ghz, OS 10.4.11 iBook, 1.2 gb ram, plenty of hard drive space and a good Airport connection.

Under AoM 1.01, everything was fine. That was a while ago, though.

Recently got back in with AoM 2.01, which GR seems to need now.

But AoM 2's a little weird. Text is pink instead of yellow, hilights are bright blue, and you can't read what's highlighted. Annoying, but tolerable.

But in addition to all this, AoM v2 won't let me in on Gameranger.

It goes thru the startup, then at the point where I should have a set of game buttons, I get a black screen with an arrowhead pointer on it. I've waited, and nothing ever changes. The only time I get anything is when I hit Cmd-Q to quit, and an AoM-style text box asks in pink letters (that should be yellow) if I'm sure I want to quit. By that time, I usually am.

I think I've got the port forwarding set properly on my router, but if that was a factor, it hasn't changed anything. Or maybe the settings are wrong, not sure.

So, any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks
