Problems with AVC HD and final cut 6

i have recently bought a sony hdr sr10 avc hd camera and i am having trouble with final cut studio. I can transfer the footage in to final cut but when i play it back on the timeline or the viewer or play it in quick time player the footage jumps around. When i say jumps the whole picture is jumping up and down even though i had been shooting on a tripod.

Is ther anyone who can advise me what to do...

Do i need to update some things or get some plug ins
