I get an error in iTunes saying something like "Could not back up because the iPod was disconnected" even though I don't disconnect it. Does anyone else get this error?

Yup. Jailbroke with quickpwn for windows from quickpwn.com, and haven't been able to backup since then.

found out how to fix it.
1. Download new mobileinstallation for 2.1
2. Go to
<root> “/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework”
3. change the Mobileinstallation in this folder to Mobileinstallation.bak
4. Drag in the mobileinstallation that you downloaded
5. Change permissions to 775 on the new mobileinstallation
6. restart ipod
7. download/sync at least one app from the app store. it can be any app.
then ur done :)

That worked for me once I finally found a 2.1 MobileInstallation. Thanks for the tip.
