I am having a problem with bootcamp and partitioning my HD and such. I used to get the "files cannot be moved" error, but turns out after I ran the repair disk on the CD, and got rid of some corrupt files, it worked fine. I then tried to run bootcamp again, but got an error saying that bootcamp will not run until there is only one partition. The problem here is that there is only ONE partition in existence. So I went back to the handy disk utility and tried to create a partition only to delete it later back to one partition (I have heard this works sometimes). When I start creating the partition it seemed to go smoothly until another error flashed on the screen, "cannot finish partition: out of free space"
. WTF?!? I have almost 40 gigs of space left on my HD and the partition I was trying to create was only 20 gigs. I have no clue how to fix this problem, or what I should try next. I should also note that I have tried to use Idefrag and deleted all of my parallels/crossover/vmware...whatever you have files. If someone could help me I would be greatly appreciative.
PS I am trying at all costs not to reformat
