I'm working on a large project and I've run into weird instances of of blocks of pixels going out intermittently.

It's very odd, because the issue occurs in the timeline sometimes, in the outputted quicktime files other times, and on the created DVDs other times.

It's a project where I've made several versions of the timeline, and in some cases I've copied & pasted the entire timeline into new sequences. I was informed by a FCP instructor that this could be occurring due to not rendering all clips at item level before copy & paste. This fixes the problem in some cases, but not all. Additionally, when I view the project in the timeline, the missing pixel blocks are not always evident on every pass. If I play forward and then go back past a spot where I saw a block out, sometimes it's there, other times not. This even occurs if I go frame by frame.

I actually went through my timeline and watched a 94 minute movie frame by frame, replacing every clip that had missing pixel blocks. When I output to quicktime, lo and behold the pixel blocks are either back again in the same spots, or new ones appear in different spots.

This has been driving me nuts. Is it possible that the removing of old render files could be causing this? It's my understanding that Since I copied & pasted clips between sequences, the clips in the original sequence actually becomes the new master clip from which the new sequence is referenced. if I've deleted the old render files, could this be the problem?

The footage originated in a JVC Everio GZ-HD7 and was shot in FHD mode. It was converted with mpeg streamclip and saved as quicktime files in the DVCPRO1080i60 codec. The timelines in the FCP project are set to the same codec.

The clips in the timelines also have a lot of color correction, and video noise is increased. Could this also be an issue? The missing pixel blocks don't occur in the raw footage, nor do they occur in previous sequences, up to a certain point. Any help wuld be GREATLY appreciated. I'll try to pst some example images. Thanks!
