Problems with dynamic wallpaper

Hi,

I don't know exactly when this started (perhaps 10.14.2) but the dynamic wallpaper isn't working as it should on my MacbookPro. The background on my MacbookPro isn't the same as on my LG Ultrafine 5k display that I have connected to it (see photo).

When I wait 1-2 hours until the next wallpaper comes then everything works as it should and the 2 different wallpapers sync to the same.

Another problem: When I booted up my MacbookPro a few days ago I got the following wallpaper as a background:

However when I changed to another wallpaper and then back to the dynamic desert one I got the following wallpaper (I also tested this with another Macbook with the same result):

This also fixes itself after some time (when the next wallpaper comes) but it's still a bit annoying that it doesn't work from the beginning.

I already tried resetting the NVRAM and the SMC but it didn't help. Is anyone else also experiencing these issues and knows how to fix them?

Works flawless on my MBA, don’t have Mojave on my iMac. Neither have an external screen. Might have to do with that, but you probably already figured that out.
