I know how to group tracks in iTunes. Or at least I thought I did. I shuffle among grouped tracks in many of my playlists, have for a while now. But now I notice that in one of my playlists a grouping isn't always finished playing before iTunes shuffles off to another group -- and then not always to the first track in the new group. I've checked and rechecked to see that the groupings are named as I intended, but clearly something's wrong. Quitting and restarting iTunes doesn't help either.

So my questions: Who knows how the "shuffle groupings" function works, and what could be fouling it up in my iTunes? Are there some characters, punctuation marks maybe, that are illegal, or at least problematic, in group names? (The problem happens to involve classical music, where there are typically long track names with numbers, various punctuation marks, etc.) Do groups names have to be in uniform format within a playlist? Do the track names or other parts of the track "info" matter (in length, format, contents, uniformity, etc.)?

Many thanks for any useful information.
