have recently upgraded to tiger, and wanted to have a chat with my friend over i chat. i have an aol address and he has a .mac, so we connected, eventually, and got into an audio chat, except there was alot of feedback. can anyone explain why this happened? the feedback was so bad we couldnt hear each other, but when i turn my mic off i can hear him perfectly with no feedback and vice versa.

You know how feedback occurs, right? Essentially, it's created when a Mic starts capturing sound from the device to which it is outputting, creating an infinite loop. I'd look around in both of your configurations and make sure that the mics are not picking up the speakers.
