problems with idvd 5

i'm having problems with idvd 5. the app keeps hanging during the pre-burn stage. it always gets stuck somewhere along the encoding video stage. i cannot enable the background encoding option because my dvd is about 80-90 minutes in length. anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? thanks!

what type of video files are you using?
if you use other source files does it also get stuck?
can you convert/re-encode/re-capture the source files to see if they are damaged and causing the problem
if you have toast can you try burning a DVD with them there and see if that works?
