I am experiencing problems with sending and synchronizing iMessages from my MacBook, and before I do a restore, I would just like to hear if you have any experience with how this problem can arise, and possibly a solution.
I have a MacBook Air M2, fully updated, as well as an iPhone 15 Pro, also fully updated. My iPhone can send and receive both iMessages and normal messages. My MacBook can send and receive normal SMS but not iMessages. For example - I can easily send iMessages to my fiancé from my iPhone, but iMessages do not sync to my MacBook. If I send a normal green message, it syncs to my MacBook. But if I want to send an iMessage on my MacBook to my fiancé, it will be sent as a normal SMS message.
- I have signed out of Messages on my MacBook, and disabled iMessages on my iPhone, rebooted and enabled again.
- I have disabled iCloud Messages, on both devices, and enabled again.
- I have signed out from my Apple ID on my Mac, and logged in again.
- I have restarted every time I have made a change.
- I have deleted my eSIM and activated it again, thus activating iMessages.
My last idea is to restore my MacBook and try again. As a last resort restore both my Mac and iPhone. But am also afraid that it is a waste of time if it doesn't help. So before I start, do you have any ideas?
