Hello MacRumors Forums
On my MBP on Mac OS X Lion, I have problems when I am installing apps.
When I drag the app from the dmg file to my Apps folder, and when I open it, the app just jumps up and down on the dock.
When I force quit it, it does not go away, so I have to use Activity Moniter to quit the dock and when I open the app then, it works fine.
Any reasons and solutions for this problem?

Does it happen with all applications or only specific ones, and if it is the latter, which ones exactly? Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?

It happens everytime when I install a new app.
Also, I don't know about the guest account question.

With the last one I mean, you could create a temporary admin account via System Preferences > Users & Groups > plus icon and then log out of your account and log into that temporary account to see, if the same happens there. Thus one can rule out a system-wide problem and determine, if it only pertains to your account.

Not trying to dumb you down or anything, but you aren't dragging the DMG file to your applications folder are you?

No.
I'm not that dumb.

I'll try that out right now. Probably keep the account name as 'Troubleshooting'. :D

I tried it on another account and I think it works properly.
I wonder what is the matter with my account?:(
