I have the two of these paired (it shows paired on the Bluetooth menu) and the headset shows up properly when they are connected to the charger. The problem is that to actually use the headset I need to unpair and pair it to get the phone to actually use the headset for audio.

I have tried to turn bluetooth on the phone on and off while also turning the headset on and off.

What am I doing wrong?

It seems the solution to this is as follows:

1) Plug the dock or portable charger into the USB port on your Mac (not via a hub).

2) Connect your headset and phone to the charger.

3) Disconnect both.

4) Turn on the headset by holding down the button (if needed). The headset may connect to the phone properly at this point, but it might not. If you don't see the bluetooth icon in the top right activate then proceed to step 5.

5) Tap the button on the headset once. You will hear a beeping sound. This should cause the phone to properly connect to the bluetooth headset.

Your mileage may very. Use this post at your own risk. :D
