Hi there,
I recently had a problem with my mac book audio... One day it just started making all sorts of strange noises from the speakers - sounded like whooshing noises and digital glitches. I had no output available in my system preferences but after a few days I managed to get this to stop by reseting a few things on startup (cmd, alt, shift seemed to do the trick). I know have output available however nothing is coming out of the speakers. I don't think this is a hardware issue as the other night the speakers decided to work fine for about 20 mins, also still makes the start up noise fine. I did one step in order to try and fix the first issue which was deleting a folder in {/Library/Preferences/Audio} and wonder if this has anything to do with why I can't get any sound out now. Using headphones also doesn't work.

Thanks in advance
Scott

I'm not sure how to delete this thread but a full restart seemed to have solved the problem for now. Thanks
