Running the IOS GM (haven't got around to updating yet, busy week) and Yosemite DP8.

Im not sure if I'm the only one, but I've never been able to even attempt airdrop to or from my iPhone to my mac.

Airdrop turned on, on my phone and in the Airdrop tab within finder on my mac. Both devices searching for possible Airdrop devices, but neither can find each other.

I had always thought that this feature had just not been integrated into the beta builds yet, however I just saw a thread with people discussing problems with it.

Am I doing something wrong????

The only thing I can think of is that my mac is a early '11 MBP therefor it doesn't support low energy bt(or whatever that is). I know this makes it incompatible/difficult with continuity/hand off...... is this also the case with airdrop?
(Personally, I really hope its not, as this was one of the most highly anticipated features for me)

Thanks to all that reply!!
