A correspondent told me that mail he'd sent to my .mac account had bounced. I emailed Apple for help, and got a reply that didn't help a lot:

----
Apple is continuing to investigate reports of delayed message delivery for messages sent to .Mac email addresses. We have escalated your report to .Mac engineering. Delivery delays, such as the one you reported, will not result in the loss of any messages.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as we continue to investigate this issue. We will email you again once we have more information regarding this issue.

"Delivery delays...will not result in the loss of any messages? Not so! I had never got that mail, and still haven't, a couple of weeks later.

Apple also suggested that if I don't get a mail, I should ask the sender to resend it. This shows great faith in my clairvoyance, but perhaps not a lot of good sense!

It seems that .mac is having major mail problems, from their reply. I had been aware over the last few months that some mails weren't getting to me, but had been blaming my correspondents' mailservers rather than .mac, since I have a couple of different addresses.

Is this happening to a lot of people?
