I connect my MBP via DVI to my HDTV. It's a rear-projection Toshiba.
I've calibrated it to the best of my ability, but I still get blooming where bright white touches dark. It blooms to one side only.
When I go through calibration, I can never really see the contrast between the grey and black bars. I tried raising & lowering the contrast and brightness to find something on the TV side to help it.
Any others with this issue? Is there a better way to calibrate a TV than the built-in calibration routine? It seems to me that I'd like to play with the gamma more than the utility allows me to.
