Hi Everyone,
I have a gateway 24" flat screen that I am trying to hook up via VGA to my i5 macbook pro. I have hooked up this computer to projectors before with no problem, but for some reason when I plug it into the monitor it says no signal even when I refresh it in system properties. I thought the cable might be weird, but it works with a windows computer that I have. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

R u using a mini-displayport to vga adapter and a standard vga cable?

If so check you display tab under system prefrences and make sure the projector is detected.

Check the resolution of the projector because sounds like the projector can't support the resolution you have set for the external monitor in your display tab.

So in this case I am hooking up to a 24" monitor. I have connected to projectors before without problem. I actually tried connecting to another 24" samsung monitor via VGA and I have the same issue whereas this monitor one works perfectly with this macbook pro over DVI.
