Hello. I used Migration Assistant to move everything (including settings) from my SR MBP to the new i7 MBP. The task is completed.
During the moving, MA reminded me that it is not possible to use the same user name on the same machine. So, following the advice from some threads, I created a new administrator account called administrator. Then, I deleted the hajime account which I set up once I got the new computer. Next, I used MA to move all the stuffs from my old computer to the new one via TM. Now, on my computer, I have two accounts. One called administrator and the other called hajime (the one from the old machine). Is it safe to remove the administrator account as hajime is also an administrator as well?
I noticed that the bootcamp computer icon does not show up on the desktop. It might be caused by the fact that I have not created a new partition on the new machine. As a result, MA could not do anything in regard to things that I installed in the bootcamp partition. Before I got rid of the SR MBP, I used WinClone to clone the bootcamp partition already. Shall I use Bootcamp to create a new windows partition now and then simply use WinClone to restore the stuffs on the Bootcamp partition? Since the new machine has more advanced hardware, I worry that there may be problems. Please note that in the bootcamp partition of my old machine, I had Vista Ultimate 64-bit installed.
A related issue is that on the old SR MBP, I had Windows XP Professional SP2 installed under Fusion 3.0.2. After running MA, I launched Fusion. I got an error saying that there is a possibility that the virtual machine is being used.
Thanks.
