So i upgraded to 6GB from 4GB. Upgraded to SL, and firmware for the fan, and now it did performed worst. Safari crashed a few times now. The fan run a little loud and the so much resources are used when i only used safari and preview and thunderbird and 3GB of RAM is used right now.

How could that take that much ram? and how do i reduce the inactive ram?

And how to lower the fan speed/noise?

Should i go back to 4GB and i don't see any improvement with 6GB? i know silly idea but this bothered me a whole deal

Well Apple did say 4GB is the max for that model. Try putting the 4GB back in, and see if these problems go away, and you will have your answer.

I have the same machine, with all the latest updates, and 4GB and it's perfectly fine.

How do disable the "inactive" processes?

They took a lot of resources

Inactive processes doesn't steal resources if you refer to Activity Monitor.
If you use 3GB of 6GB, you will not have any slowdowns.

I would try go back to 4GB again, try that for a few days and see if you still have problems.

6GB is running rock solid for me in this model. Don't worry about inactive memory. Free memory is wasted memory.

What 4GB stick did you get?
