So my Superdrive seems to be failing me.

I put in a CD or DVD and about 75% of the time it spits the thing back out at me. I've bought a lens cleaner but that doesn't seem to help at all.

If I take this in, is this something Apple will need to ship my Macbook Pro out to get fixed, or can they simply do this replacement in store? I can't go without my Macbook right now as it's all I use for school.

Thanks!

How old is it? What model?

They'll asses it in the Apple Store and fix it there - though they might need to order a new super drive for you. You'll be able to continue using your Mac until the super drive arrives, and depending on how busy your local Apple Store is, it could be done in a few hours.

I bought it summer of 2007. I have Applecare on it.
