Hello,

I just got a new ipod touch for my birthday. The first thing I did was upload music from my older ipod, which I still had on file. I did this using sharepod, not itunes.

Once I had done this, I noticed that my songs were not in alphabetical order at all... though it claimed that they were. That was rather frustrating, and I still do not know how to fix that.

Next, sharepod failed to recognize my ipod at all, seeing as I didn't have itunes installed on that computer. I installed itunes on that computer. Now it doesn't recognize it at all and it crashes right after opening it.

So, I turned to itunes. Itunes recognizes my ipod but cannot read the content. It suggest I back the music up and then restore it.

I have no idea how I can back it up without any access to the files through itunes or sharepod... and I don't want to just restore it and lose everything!

My itunes also does not recognize my apps at all, which I find incredibly strange, since I didn't not use sharepod or any other device to get them. The apps tab is completely blank and there is no option to sync that I have discovered. I don't want to lose my apps or the data saved on my apps either! Will restoring make me lose everything?

I have not discovered a fully free way to do this, and my parents will not buy any programs to back it up another way.

If anyone could help me with these issues, I would be incredibly grateful.
