Problems with recording audio on mac

I tried to record some audio (voice) with garageband earlier this day and it didn't work! I have a built in microphone that is working fine, it tested it (mac OS X, version 10.5.8) and my input volume level is turned up (system preferences).

I tried to record with isight (imovie) and can record a video, but no sound eighter. I've been able to record in the past with garageband so i haven't a single clue what happened..!

Anyone got an idea?

Has page 49ff of the Garage Band Manual anything helpful to say?

I tried to record with imovie (isight) to double check if i accidently changed something in the garageband settings (what is not the case). But i only got a video without sound.
My mic is working fine (checked that in preference settings, sound).
So i have no idea what's the problem.

So you have checked your Garage Band settings?

Does the same problem occur with another user account?

Can you provide information on what Mac (model, month of purchase), what Mac OS X and Garage Band version you have?

I logged off on my account (only have 1 account on my mac) and logged in again as you said. Checked again on Garageband and everything is working fine now!
Really strange! (restarted my computer before i started this thread, but that didn't help..). Everything's back to normal now.
