Hi all

I have a Sapphire HD 7950 OC Vapor-X Graphics Card 3gb GDDR5 With boost that was previously in a PC.
It's a PC card, but I gather it should work with my Mac Pro without a boot screen.

On install, the fans spin up, the lights come on. But there is no display on the Cinema Display—it just stays black.

I've tried both DVI ports and both BIOS switch positions.

The Mac works fine with the old card.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks.

Stephen

Did you tested the card into a PC before installing into the MP5,1? Did you used two miniPCIe 6-pin to 8-pin power cables to feed the HD 7950?

Thanks for the rapid response!

What version of macOS you are using? Did you tried every output from the GPU? With PC Cards some outputs just don't work.

I'm running the latest High Sierra version (10.13.4?). I've only tried the DVI ports. I'll try a Displayport>DVI adapter and I'll try the HDMI if I can move the TV!

Thanks again

Stephen

I tried it via the HDMI and Display ports. No go. Screen remains resolutely blank.

Any more ideas anyone?
