Problems with sync of Ical and gcal using calDAV

I have Calabration all set up with my ical. New events in iCal sync with gcal. New events in gcal sync with ical, however,

all of the old stuff (entered before using Calabration), recurring appointments, etc do not sync from ical to gcal. Any ideas ?
