Hi! i got last day, the new imac and i have some little problems

1) I have a an usb 3.0 HD connected to a 3.0 hub. the hd isnt recognized from imac. i also tried to switch ports and disconnect other peripherals but the result its always the same. i resolved using an usb 2.0 cable but its not a deal considering first itme in my life i have a usb 3.0 pc and i cant use it. the same configuration worked without any problems on my old macbook, but in that case, it was usb 2.0. which can be the problem? too much bandwith? i also use a thunderbolt ssd as my primary drive. but i dont think thunderbolt and usb share same bandwith

There seems to be a wide discrepancy with USB3 hubs and the Mac. That is to say, some work fine, others work only a USB2 speeds. Perhaps some don't work at all.

Have you tried substituting a different USB cable?
