I actually have two separate but possibly related problems with my Imac, both of which I never had when I used to have my PC-
When I try to burn mp3 files from my hard drive to a DVD (for storage) (using either my built-in DVD burner or my external DVD drive), many times during the process, the burning will abort and i'll get some error message. Other times, the burning process will complete, and then abort at the very last minute, before the burning is finalized. Also, recently, i burned a DVD of mp3 files, but then later when i inserted this DVD into my computer, my computer just froze. i used the same DVD on friend's mac (same OS as mine) and same thing happend on his. And other times, the burning process is completely successful.
So the other problem, which i think is related to above problem is--
When i insert data DVDs (of mp3 files) - some of the DVDs which were created in past using my PC and others created in past using my current Mac - when i try to transfer the mp3 files from DVD to my hard drive (or even to my external hard drive), i'll get an error -36 message. I know this problem has been discussed widely throughout sites all over the internet. but i still can't seem to fix it. the odd thing is that it seems completely random which mp3 files are erroneous. the same file can be successfully transferred from DVD to hard drive at later times.
Would greatly appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
