Problems with VMware fusion and ubuntu

Hello Everybody,

I am having problems with vmware fusion 2.0 and ubuntu 8.10. It installs everything fine but then i install build-essentials and then the vmware tools and it i can't copy and paste from mac os x or drop and drag from mac to ubuntu. Its driving me nuts cause when I had my macbook it worked fine but now i get a new macbook pro it doesn't works. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

On the VMware forums they said that vmware tools doesn't work well with ubuntu 8.10 but i swear i had unity and drag and drop working on my old macbook. Does anybody have it work?
