I installed xfree86 via Fink.

The only problem is when trying to launch X, I get this:
Code:
Rawk-Box:~ joshua$ X
2004-01-05 17:38:15.663 XDarwin[10492] CFLog (0): CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): Old-style plist parser: missing semicolon in dictionary.
2004-01-05 17:38:15.664 XDarwin[10492] CFLog (0): CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): The file name for this data might be (or it might not): /Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Localizable.strings
2004-01-05 17:38:29.570 XDarwin[10492]
XDarwin 1.2b4

XFree86 Version 4.3.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)
Release Date: 27 February 2003
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your hardware is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
        reporting problems. (See [url]http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ[/url])
Operating System: Darwin Apple Computer, Inc.

Fatal server error:
Could not find keymapping file USA.keymapping.

   OsVendorFatalError
   AbortDDX
Quitting XDarwin...

and X wont load.

The last part about USA.keymapping file is wont mostly bothers me - where is that file at? how do I make XDarwin find it? or how do I get it if I dont have it??

Thanks in advance!

XDarwin comes with OpenOffice as a binary, I had XDarwin installed once, but I trashed it because Apple has their own X11 program, just download that from apple's site or install it from Disk 3 on Panther.

The downloaded version of X11 is newer.

I used to have Apple's X11, but the X programs I installed with Fink knew it was there, only they wouldnt use it, and Fink downloaded XDarwin any way.

I figured getting Fink and my other programs to recognize X11 and use it instead of XDarwin would be more of a hassle than just letting Fink use Xdarwin.

Little did I know.....:p

So I guess this is a new question -

If I re-download Apple X11, how do I install it inplace of XDarwin and get Fink/others to use it instead???

Thanks again!
